Finnegaards Stuene Restaurant
With its inviting architectonics of the facade and candle lit haven from within, Finnegaardsstuene is one of Norway’s best gourmet restaurants with its formal dining in which to enjoy one of many wonderful seafood, meat, or poultry dishes.

Decorous elegant evenings featuring fine wines and impeccable service in Bergen’s historic Hanseatic conserved wooden building, built ca. 1702, located in the city’s center, near Bryggen.
The welcoming space captures the feeling of the area's early times. Finnegaardsstuene is warmed with muted colors, rustic wood beams and luxurious, dignified furnishings.
Tables are well spaced throughout the dining room. Enjoy intimate conversation with each course. Or indulge in a private room complete with stone fireplace and chef's table with generous, exclusive formality and indulgence that elevate any occasion to extraordinary.

Finnegaarden got its name from the farm Finne at Voss, an hour outside Bergen, and is first mentioned in 1403.
In the middle of the 16th century the farm was partly owned by Erik Rosenkrantz. Not until after the fire of 1702 did Finnegaarden become the Office’s (The Hanseatic Office) most southern farm. For a longest time the farm was owned by traders from Hamburg (Germany).
In the mid 18th century the building was taken over by the Lude family, and is today owned by Agnethe Lude Sande.
Finnegaarden is similar to the Hanseatic trades house. In earlier days, dry fish, corn (wheat and such), and leather were traded here.
Through the centuries the farm has been used by German, Dutch, and Norwegian traders for housing, warehouse and a place to eat.
